France has the honor to organize the European Football Championship in 2016. This important international event enables renowned Dutch sport infrastructure companies to exchange their experience and competencies with major French construction companies. In this context, Transfer Consultancy organized a trade mission to France in cooperation with the FME (Dutch association for the technological industry) and the Dutch Embassy in Paris.

The Dutch delegation consisted of 14 successful companies which travelled to France in order to get to know the French sports infrastructure market and to seize the existing opportunities. Some companies started their mission earlier on Wednesday afternoon for individual B2B meetings with prosperous French architect agencies. The company Bolidt had an interesting meeting with a French agency that is responsible for the challenging renovation of the football stadium in Marseille. Herculan, another participating company, had meetings with sport floor installers and distributors. As a result of the success of these encounters the French companies even decided instantly to schedule a follow-up meeting with one of the companies in the Netherlands.

The other companies started Thursday with a seminar at the residence of the Dutch ambassador in Paris. The participants received a warm welcome from the Dutch ambassador Ed Kronenberg. One of the prominent speakers was Mr Bruno Botella, director of AREMA, a subsidiary of Bouygues constructions, which is founded for the restoration of the football stadium in Marseille. The day ended with an informal cocktail at the Dutch Embassy where the participants had the unique occasion to further discuss the business possibilities in France with each other and Mr Botella.

After the successful evening the next morning started with a seminar at the Dutch Embassy. The eminent guest was the Sales Director of Vinci Constructions Mr Bourgoin; a global actor on the market. Vinci Constructions gave a presentation about the impressive projects it participates in. Afterwards, each company had the opportunity to elaborate on their products and services. The Sales Director listened carefully to all the participants. After the seminar an interactive discussion took place about the French market and its opportunities for foreign companies.

This trade mission pointed out the many chances there are for Dutch companies in the French sport infrastructure sector. During the trade mission important relationships have been established, also regarding future sports events in Russia and Qatar.
