Dutch State visit to Canada (May 26th - June 4th)

At the invitation of Their Excellencies the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, and Mrs Sharon Johnston, Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Kingdom of the Netherlands will pay a state visit to Canada from Wednesday 27 to Friday 29 May 2015.

They will be accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Bert Koenders.

Coinciding with state visit, Ms Lilianne Ploumen, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, will head an economic mission with Dutch companies looking for Canadian counterparts. Ms Jet Bussemaker, the Minister of Education, Culture and Science will head an academic mission.

Regarding the economic mission several sectors are represented, among others: Water (river bank protection and development, delta and water, sustainable watershed management); Soil (efficient use of land and subsoil remediation and reuse); Town Planning (Resilient (delta) cities, urban planning, landscape and building architecture, waste management); Agri & Food and Horticulture and Propagation Materials (Feeding the City: food (technology) and food innovations, solutions in the field of nutritional / health / sustainability).
