Matchmaking trip Retail (non)food France + visit MDD Expo (April 8-10, 2014)
NEC organizes a matchmaking trip to one of the most promising markets in the food and non-food sectors: France! Transfer LBC is going to be its partner. The retail sector in France is still growing and selling over the internet is exploding, with is a good reason to enter this market or expand existing activities. During this trip you will get to know various retailers through collective and individual company visits and matchmaking appointments. The trip is scheduled around the big and important retail private label show in Paris, the MDD Expo. Read more.
Trade mission to Colombia officially launched with kick-off meeting at the RVO
On thursday February 27th 2014 the kick-off meeting of the trade mission to Colombia (that will take place March 10th-14th) was held at the Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO) in the Hague. With this kick-off the mission was officially launched. The ambassador of Colombia, Mr. Eduardo Pizarro Leongómez, briefed the participants of the trade mission on the attractive business aspects of his country. Read more

TRANSFER wins new LIFE+ projects
For the fifth consecutive year TRANSFER has been successful within the LIFE+ program, this year winning 2 projects! If you have any environmental technology or concept that you wish to pilot in an European demonstration project, LIFE+ can be a very interesting instrument. Not only does it give financial support but it also provides an excellent promotion tool. Transfer Consultancy is specialised in creating the partnership, conceptualising the core idea, and writing the proposal. All follow-up actions with the European authorities are taken care of as well. For 2014, the new LIFE+ programme will be extended and the percentage of subsidy raised. Mexico puts its state monopoly on oil to an end
After 75 years Mexico is about to end the state monopoly on oil production. Last Thursday, a proposal to that effect has been submitted with 353 against 134 votes in the lower house of the Mexican Congress. Read more

Latin America to grow by 3.2% in 2014
The economies of Latin America and the Caribbean will expand by 3.2% in 2014, which is higher than the 2.6% performance of 2013, according to a new ECLAC report launched today at a press conference in Santiago, Chile. Panama will lead the pack with a growth rate of 7% in 2014, while powerhouses like Brazil and Mexico are predicted to grow at 2,6% and 3,5% respectively. Read more
Air France-KLM to buy stake in Brazil’s GOL
Air France-KLM is to buy a stake in Brazil’s second-largest airline to improve its long-haul business as the flag carrier struggles with continued weakness in Europe and looks to branch out further into emerging markets. The Franco-Dutch carrier said it would invest $100m in Gol Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes and take a 1.5 per cent equity stake, also increasing the number of flights and routes to Latin America later this year. Seven Latin American billionaires have made it into the top 100 on Forbes Magazine's 2014 billionaire list, down from 10 on last year's list. All seven billionaires came from Mexico, Brazil, Colombia and Chile.
